While it probably was never documented, 2.0.16 removed the `item_sounds` global that was available in the data stage which broke at least one mod (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Warehousing).
Reluctant to call it a bug as this was never really documented (and adding an import line fixes this) but it was unexpected in a point release and not documented in the change log.
[2.0.16] item_sounds is no longer a global in data stage
Re: [2.0.16] item_sounds is no longer a global in data stage
Other mods were also affected. But as you say, it was quickly cotivated. But since it wasn't announced, it was a surprise.
My Mods: Picklocks Fusion Power | Picklocks Inserter | Picklocks Lithium Polymer Accumulator | Picklocks rocket silo stats | Picklocks Set Inventory Filters | Picklocks QuickBar Import/Export | Picklocks Nauvis Cliff-Explosives

You're right, I should have put it in the changelog, I apologize.
It being global looked like a clear mistake to me, the item_sounds should be properly imported.
