While experimenting with the new set recipe feature for crafting machines, I've encountered an issue with the foundry that it cannot be configured to craft either foundries or big mining drills when receiving a signal of each respectively through a circuit network.
Doing some further testing, the expected behavior works for pipes even though there is not an explicit molten recipe but not for belts. Explicit molten recipes available for selection work as intended.
[2.0.11] Foundry recipe can't be set to Foundry or Big Mining Drill with circuits
Re: [2.0.11] Foundry recipe can't be set to Foundry or Big Mining Drill with circuits
There are recipes that can only be crafted on specific surfaces, please make sure you are on the correct surface. Editor has an option to set recipe ignoring surface conditions but "set recipe" by circuit always obeys surface conditions.

I have the same issue. Ok. Part of the issue.
Of course you cannot set to Big Mining Drill, if you are not on Vulcanus.
But.
You cannot set the "Copper smelting" with copper ore. It always jumps to lava. Drives me crazy!

Sorry yes it appears that the surface condition is what was missing and had not occurred to me. That invalidates the bug report, sorry for the confusion.
Re: [2.0.11] Foundry recipe can't be set to Foundry or Big Mining Drill with circuits
Primary way of selecting recipe is by providing a recipe signal. Selecting recipe by providing an item signal requires additional deduction step where assembler has to look for an available recipe that produces given item (item must match one of the recipe products). If there are multiple recipes that match this condition then it may choose a recipe that was not the one intended. Your issue seems to be around which side of recipe the signal must match, because foundry cannot produce copper-ore as a product, if you want to provide a signal it should be an item that corresponds to one of the products (for example copper-plate).
Re: [2.0.11] Foundry recipe can't be set to Foundry or Big Mining Drill with circuits
I know, how to set a recipe. As you can see in the original screenshot recipe number 4 is not working correctly. The signal is "smelt copper ore" but the machine is set to "smelt lava into liquid copper". So the signal is correct, but the machine selects the wrong recipe.boskid wrote: ↑Tue Oct 29, 2024 9:18 amPrimary way of selecting recipe is by providing a recipe signal. you are total right. thank you!
but
please fix it I had to redesign my platform ... and redesign it now again ...
and btw. THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT GAME!!!! already spend over 70 hour in the last 7 days. And this just because i had to work full time.
