[2.0.77] Pentapods stop expanding after being pushed back

There is a bug in the game where once pentapods are pushed back far enough, they can not expand past a certain point. From what I saw, this is due to water they need for making nests. There are big patches of land between the nests and where they need to expand to, that seemingly breaks their logic and disrupts expansion.
If this is an intended mechanic, I implore the developers to revise this. Specifically think about it in the context of why expansion even exists in the first place, if certain terrain features makes the mechanic obsolete.
I can just land on gleba, go destroy a bunch of nests before I set up a base and then never have to worry about pentapods again.

Other than that, I'm a pretty hardcore deathwolrd player and would love some more features around increasing difficulty on gleba. Specifically in regards to how the pollution consumption changes of certain tiles, massively nerfed pentapods on gleba in the first few weeks of updates after space age released.
People keep saying on steam that the developers likely wont see posts there so I cam here to make one. I have been playing this game since 2018 and I wont stop anytime soon, I have also bought it for two of my friends, thank you guys for all the great memories. I added some pictures of my current extreme deathworld marathon, I had no specific goal in mind.
The starer is burried somewhere under all this

2.0.77 Gleba - Pentapod Expansion Broken

Once you push the pentapods far enough out, they cant expand past certain terrain, this often leads to them just being nullified if pushed out far enough.
It’s some of the land tiles that is breaking the expansion. Seems like a game-breaking bug(removes an entire line of enemies from gameplay)

My bad. This is the save in the pictures. To add some more context, since the pentapods need shallow water to make a nest it, it seems when they meet a very thick land/inadequate terrain piece, the expansion does not happen. I have no idea if the expansion party despawns or something, just that no expansion is happening, or an unintended little amount.
Please let me know if I can provide anything else that will assist with this.

Thank you very much for the detailed report
This should be fixed in 2.1
EDIT: Just tested the save in 2.1, they seem to be expanding properly

Thank you< I really appreciate the fast response.
I am a little confused. Was it a bug and you fixed it? Or was it something I was just imagining?
Either way I really appreciate it, I did not expect this to be reviewed so fast. Now I can rest easy knowing the funky starfish are indeed planning my demise.

It was a bug, and I fixed it during 2.1 development (there was a lot of rewriting of expansion planner to clean things up, and this is one of the weird situations I solved)

Thank you again, it was driving me crazy haha.
Got an even higher level of respect for the development team with how positive this experience was. A true bastion of integrity and good work ethic.
I’ll be sure to post any other bugs I encounter in the future. Have a nice day
