[0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
[0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
Game's audio starts making a ticking noise an then the game black screen an crashes.
Happens when walking towards the turrets to the north.
Not sure if mod or game, but was told to report it in the bug section.
Below are the current log file.
Will upload Mod an Save file :
Save file :
Edit : Load into Save File, Walk North/Up towards iron deposit and walk towards the turret. Game crashes each time.
Edit #2 : Loaded into a different save, Quickly removed the turret and now the game no longer crashs.
Possible cause :
Inserter taking iron off the line into chest an then into assembly machine, an then into a turret an box.
Removed that contraption - Still crashed.
Reloaded save and deleted the turret first. No longer getting the crash atm.

I was playing, minding my construction, selected an item from my toolbelt and the game crashed,
looks like it is related to audio ...
I got the same bug again, log after, but this time, the game froze, instead of just closing so I could not even close the game, and hade the last half second of the game audio looping in the background ...
the new log :

Re: [0.12.1] Crash with allegro audio addon
This is a problem with the allegro audio. A small attempt was made to fix this(or make it happen less often) in 0.12.2.
Please reply to this topic if the problem persists in 0.12.2 or later. Thanks

[0.12.2] [Sound related] Crash
Hi,
my game crashes quite often. It just freezes and then spits out this error Message:
Unexpected error occurred. You can help us to solve the problem by posting the contents of the log file on the Factorio forums.
This happenes in multiplayer as well as in singleplayer. I am using Factorio 0.12.2 (Build 16229, win64).
Sadly I don't know how to reproduce this error. It happenes mostly after I save manually - but not always. Here is the log: http://pastebin.com/AxSaAmY6
Factorio also makes weird electronic noises that don't belong to the game (I guess...).
Sometimes I can play for hours, sometimes not even a minute. I tried it with Factorio 0.12.0, 0.12.1 and 0.12.2, but nothing worked.
I hope you'll come up with a solution, so I can play your awesome game again (really have a lot of fun!)
cheers!
Tim

Re: [0.12.1] Crash with allegro audio addon
This is a tricky problem, it seems to be hardware/OS/driver specific because we can not reproduce it.
I made a special version of Factorio 0.12.3 that also creates very detailed logs for the allegro library.
Just copy the two files from the zip file in Factorio\bin\x64, in the same folder as Factorio.exe, but run the game using Factorio-allegro-logs.exe. It will create a allegro.log file in this folder.
Once it crashes save this log and the normal factorio log and upload them here. Keep in mind that the file will become very big(~100MB), but should be around 3MB after you archive it.
Download it here: http://eu1.factorio.com/pub/Factorio-al ... %20x64.zip
Thanks. Hopefully this will be helpful.

Re: [0.12.1] Crash with allegro audio addon
Hi,
for over 50h+ of playtime, I no longer have this bug. I removed the mod "bobsenemies". Also, I started a new map. I am still using factorio 0.12.2. So maybe the world was corrupted or bobsenemies did something weird - I dunno.
I've downloaded the special version and can't reproduce it anymore ...
I tried to match the previous setup as close as possible - but nope. No crash, no noises, no nothing. Everything was fine - even on my Windows 7 VM, where it crashed before. No - my hardware is exactly the same and no - there were no driver updates. So, yeah .
As soon as I get the error again (if it will even happen again), I will post it here.
Thanks for your reply !
Tim

[0.12.4] Crash log
I have attached the log as requested, not sure what caused it. Seems to happen a few times, but not constantly.
I cannot reproduce it.

Re: [0.12.1] Crash with allegro audio addon
I am able to reproduce this bug in Factorio 12.3 while running Shadows Modpack. The bug happens every time I put down an electric furnace and feed in Quartz with a fast inserter. I have attached the allegro logs and normal logs.

Re: [0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
Having the same problem, using 5dim and dytech and on 12.4. Logs are identical to Devildog's. Crashes when an inserter moves and plays its sound. Seems to be specific to an individual tile. Work around would be to either move the inserter, or change environment_audible_distance to 0 in %appdata%\Factorio\config\config.ini
Re: [0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
i got the same issue, played for hours then it suddenly just crashed as i was about to remove some accus. have had this happend before, reloaded the autosave at that point n somehow it worked just fine then. this timehowever it just kept crashign when i went back to that point. seems to me it might have something to do with 5dim's sideinserter. atleast ive been near them both times it crashes like that. managed to unbug it by turning 5dim off n restart n turning it back on
oh and im playing 12.5 so it seems its a persistant lil bugger

Do you have the save game (+ mods) somewhere, so I can try to load the game and reproduce it?AnarCon wrote:i got the same issue, played for hours then it suddenly just crashed as i was about to remove some accus. have had this happend before, reloaded the autosave at that point n somehow it worked just fine then. this timehowever it just kept crashign when i went back to that point. seems to me it might have something to do with 5dim's sideinserter. atleast ive been near them both times it crashes like that. managed to unbug it by turning 5dim off n restart n turning it back on

Re: [0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
I had two weeks on vacation, without internet, so once I encountered the bug (playing with 5dims mods) I spent hours trying to find the cause.
Since all the inserters that caused the problem (in my case the 90° inserters) had the same audio files as the base inserters, that couldn't be it.
Now that I read through the thread I assume that the problem is faster inserters. I would guess it trips up the Audio logic / driver / module because the entity finishes faster, than the sound it's related to.
But then again, maybe that's just complete nonsense, hope you'll tell me in the end
I updated to 12.6 and its still the same. As soon as you walk towards the right and stand by my red circuit build (using some 90° inserters) it crashes.
I also noticed, that just before the crash I do not hear the inserter-sound but the robot-flying-sound instead. (Reproducable)
Here's my save, in case you want to have a look at it right now, Im uploading the mods Im using, but maybe you have them lying around anyways

Re: [0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
I downloaded the mods manually and tried to walk around in the save, and I had no problems. I tried to stay in the advanced circuit factory without a problem. It is hard to say what should I do now.
Could you post the log and exact hardware and system configuration?

Oops,
https://mega.nz/#F!j0olCYKJ!CxfYAnqpYKx_0-qCbQKuvg
That's the Link to the Folder, with the 3 files.
My Configuration is a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro with an Intel® Core™ i7-4500U with integrated Audio ChipSet.
I'm Running Windows 10.
Now Added to the Mega-Folder you can find the DxDiag-Log, which should give you enough details about my machine.
Maybe you can give me another Debug-Version with detailed Allegro-Logs as Twinsen did for the 12.3?

Re: [0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
This problem only seems to occur on windows 8 and 10.
Re: [0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
Yes, no report is from other system than windows 8 and 10 so far.Twinsen wrote:This problem only seems to occur on windows 8 and 10.
I also made thread on the allegro forums: https://www.allegro.cc/forums/thread/615724 we might get some hint there as well.
Re: [0.12.1]Crash with allegro audio addon
I got it on Video.
It's a sort of corrupted Video because Factorio quit unexpectedly, but VLC handles the playback well.
I have added the Video to the Mega.co.nz-Directory. You can hear the two glitches really well before it crashes on the 3rd.
