This is not exactly a bug, but I believe this 'compact' example shows problems with current logistic bots.
Picture and savegame shows following issues in case of uranium enrichment:
-When active providers are used in enrichment area to prevent bottlenecks (as currently), bots waste time by carrying bright uranium back and forth
-When replaced with buffer chests, they slowly end up being filled up, eventually creating bottlenecks
-When replaced with passive providers, they do the same as above, just faster, because bots prefer uranium ores from storage area
-Both of above happen because bots now prefer storage chests over near-by chests or something like that
-In addition to the above, bots seem to prefer using unassigned storage chests instead of dedicated chests that I've put nearby most of the time
-As it is right now, there is no solution to this while using bots

I don't think this requires log file. I'm posting this example because I think it can help in further optimalisations.

Not a bug. Bots prefer requester chests/player requests (not certain in which order), followed by storage chests containing that item, in the order the chests are placed, followed by empty storage chests, in the order the chests were placed, followed by non-empty storage chests, in the order in which the chests were placed. At no point in time is proximity considered.

Should be able to get around this with the new storage filters, just open the chest you want a particular item in and set it on the logistic filter section, though you might have to actively disrupt their currently to be filled chest by swapping it to an active provider so they will choose the newly filtered chest as the next target

Thanks for the report however this is currently working as intended.

Robots don't pick the closest storage chest when dumping items right now. That may change in the future but that's currently how it works.
