Optimising a factory with “random bonuses”

Hi, while playing Factorio, I got the idea to make a factory that distributes resources or items semi-randomly, kinda like bonus spins in some games. I’m trying to figure out the best way to handle randomness with belts and machines so it’s balanced but not totally predictable.
If anyone has tried making systems that drop “bonus” or rare items automatically, would be great to hear how you did it.
