[2.0.23] Asteroid chunk rate doesn't change with platform size

What did you do?
Created 1 smaller and 1 much larger platform with 360 degree collector coverage, processed all asteroid chunks the same way and checked the production graph. They are stationary around Nauvis and don't have any thrusters. All machinery is equivalent except their size.
What happened?
Both platforms produce approximately the same absolute number of asteroid chunks, despite their massive size difference.
What did you expect to happen instead?
The asteroid chunk rate should scale linearly with platform area (or perimeter). I don't think creating 100 tiny platforms is good or necessary for the gameplay. At least for me, larger platforms receiving more asteroid chunks was naturally expected - they occupy more space.
Does it happen always, once, or sometimes?
It doesn't appear to be platform or version specific and works consistently.
