TL;DR
When hovering over a signal or placing a signal show the train outlines after the signal the same way they are shown before the signal.
What ?
When hovering over a signal or placing a signal show the train outlines after the signal the same way they are shown before the signal. Sorry, that's all to say about the idea.
Why ?
When placing a full signal after a rail crossing the important part is that a train must be able to fit between this signal and the next. Otherwise the end of the train would reach into the rail crossing a cause problems. This means one has to first place a chain signal, then find the next signal, hover over it, count the trains back towards the rail crossing and only if a train fits between the two signals can one replace the chain signal with a full signal. (Alternatively one can place a full signal and replace it with a chain signal if a train doesn't fit. Same problem of having to go back and forth).
If the game would show the train outlines after the signal one could see whether the train will fit before placing the signal in the first place.

I'm for this, though I would say that any wagon outlines that pass the previous signal should be made a different color (like red or something) so that it's obvious they are crossing into another rail block.
Derp, ignore this. Misunderstood the request.

Not sure red is the right choice there, too glaring. It's kind of obvious where the split between the forward and backward projections is, it's where you hover or where you place your signal. It's where you are pointing at.
But the game could use slightly different hues. Like slightly red and blue tinted, but quite pale I would say.

Ohhhh... whoops, nevermind, I think I misunderstood your request. I thought you were talking about how the train wagon indicators stop at the previous signal, you were requesting that they keep going.
I get what you actually mean, now. Yeah, this would still be useful. Disregard any colorization, though, of course.
