I was playing multiplayer with a friend and the game wont count the minions achievement. We didnt use any lua commands and my friend was able to get the achievement shortly after i tried. I have also saved the map and tried it in singleplayer, but it didnt work either.

In this screenshot you can observe, how the destroyers i have are not tracked in the achievement display.

Works flawless for me.

When you open the achievements GUI do you see something like this:

Oh, thats it. thank you.
Could be helpfull if this "problem" shows in the pinned achivement GUI aswell. (So my dumb ass can find it faster).
Maybe making the progress-bars of the achievements yellow? Or show it in the tooltip on hover?
