Hi Guys, thought I would plug this here as well. I have started writing the quick start guide for factorio on the wiki for new players who need a little help starting from the beginning. Hope this helps some people. Feel free to offer suggestions on what to write, anything that needs fixing and please direct new players here that need a little help. I am currently up to writing about automating some science pack production and using the assemblers and such.

Nice guide. I notice you mention burner inserters, but don't show a screenshot on how to make use of them in fueling coal drills. I've seen quite a few YouTube Let's Plays where people get confused on how to do this. I suggest adding this screenshot:

Ah yes. I think I had an example or was going to put one in and then forgot to do so. In reality I think most people would skip burner inserters because electricity is so easy to make. I was going to put it in for completeness. I will go back and look at it in a couple of hours and fix it up. Thanks for the feedback

Actually, the way it runs currently I think is reasonable. Have a burning miner with another in front. It means you have to fuel the one behind, but you have fuel inserters anyway. From the stage of having it the way my guide works until you get electrical power I think is a reasonable way to do it.

Nice work. I'll try to link this into the main-page, when I've time, but any other should be able to do that, too.

To the miners:
I place two burner miners with the output direction "inside": The first feeds the second, the second feeds the first. Cause both have a stack of 50 coal, you can mine and store 100 of coal like so.
The whole stuff with these beginning moves is called "joseki":

Is there actually a way to automatically insert coal into a burner inserter? I find myself running miles and miles and miles early on, especially when my iron, copper, and coal deposits and the furnaces are a bit further apart, to keep everything well supplied with coal, until I finally get electricity up and replace all the burner inserters.

As of 0.10.0, burner inserters will fuel themselves, but you must provide the first fuel in order for it to keep going. So just drop one coal in each burner inserter and it'll feed itself, then the drill.

Well I'll be! This makes perfect sense then. I will add your screenshot to the page and update the information to reflect this, thankyou.
