The game itself wasn't unplayable because my keyboard shortcuts filled in for the missing buttons, but the world gen customization screen definitely had unusable parts.

I'm on 125%

The tech tree is sorted, thank for the quick fix, however my game crashes when I open up my blueprints screen.

Also FYI, I had a critical crash when I tried to open my blueprint list back at 0.17.19. That was when I realized 0.17.20 was out, but then automatic updater didn't work properly. I still have another way of DL-ing from the site itself, but still, there's that issue.

Dunno if the log itself still remains, though...

Why am not surprised (@dev_il)... I just wish the reason given for the removal wasn't so insulting as "just doesn't make sense to us"

[Moderated by Koub] : Factorio Forums are not a place to debate about religion

I warned you... it was written in the heat of the moment

Re: Version 0.17.20 is totally broken - don't download!

It crashes (on the Mac) right away or when opening a blueprint book - don't load.
I had ti revert to a week old version to be able to play somehow again.

No need for me to attach a log file as they are now mounting on the bug blog right now.

wheybags wrote: Tue Mar 26, 2019 2:38 pm In order to attain the level of polish we want for the 1.0 release, we would need to spend a bunch of time implementing proper support for RTL layouts, and this just doesn't make sense for us.
They're not saying the RTL languages don't make sense. They're saying that spending the time to properly implement them doesn't make sense, probably from a time required and number of user perspective. They also didn't bring up anything about religions, so not sure where that's coming from.

It's not a religion debate, but definitely it will trigger a stupidity debate if the reason of the - temporary - removal [s]is[/s] if not explained clearly. You know, regional or godish stupidity has no border walls.

Just for me, it's clear enough:

In short: They don't have time for that.
You're right, they didn't clearly explain why they don't have time - but we already know: They like to have 1.0 out as soon as possible.

You might think, it's written by a person who has proper language support ... maybe you're right. But I don't use it. I play factorio in English, like I've been playing minecraft and other games in English too - but it's not my native language. I see it as a point to learn better English - so I've got a wider spectrum of informations around in the world available to me ...

Oops, I made a typo, it's "if" and not "is".

"... if the reason of the - temporary - removal if not explained clearly."? but that doesn't make sense. "is" was alright.
also, your attempt to add strikethrough to the original post failed, it's

Code: Select all

[strike][/strike]
, not

Code: Select all

[s][/s]
here.

A. it was hidden for a reason - to not get those hater lighted up...
B. It was meant to trigger an emotion and then have the triggered individual understanding my emotion when reading the Dev's statement - Guess I forgot to mention that part, but it was also not that warranted and Koub was maybe correct to remove it

Thank you for defending my position, somewhat.

the problem is that you've clearly misunderstood what devs wrote about the removal.
next time, before you start typing such emotional posts, take a deep breath and read what has upset you again.

also, i could understand such premature emotional post if you replied to some Twitter tweet or a comment on YouTube, because you can expect everything there, but clearly a gamedev company would not try to "hurt your feelings". a second of thought should've been enough to see that something was wrong with your perception.
this reaction was just silly.

You totally misunderstood me. The strike was against you and to prevent others like you from invoking any bullshit like nationalism, fanaticism or bigotry.

[Koub] This topic goes nowhere. Everybody has now understood the reasons why the devs made the choice to finally drop RTL support :
It would have needed too much effort to get to their quality standards for the 0.1% player base the target audience for RTL was.
The discussions keep drifting towards the interpretation the community has of this move, and the way the community misinterpreted the devs' intentions.
Therefore, I'm locking the thread.
