Refined concrete is the same thing, just renamed. You can find info on that here:

New concrete is always good, designing an making the factory more realistic. And it looks more realtistic then the normal one.

Thanks for link.
But `refined concrete` is more difficult to translate. Maybe it's about reinforced concrete?

It sounded a little strange to me as well, but when I looked at the new ingredients, reinforced is what came to mind.
Refined concrete is what I'd call a more "pure" concrete, like something meant for artistic purposes or something luxurious and focused on aesthetics rather than mechanics.
Reinforced concrete has rebar or something else (iron sticks and steel, in Factorio) to improve the structural integrity.

I'll just have to stick out my pinky from my mouse whenever I'm placing refined concrete

LMAO!
I wish the refined concrete had a different color in map view though - slightly darker (my preference) or lighter would be great to differentiated it from normal concrete.. And really, if it was only aesthetic, the same color could be argued. But you are paying for all those extra resource requirements so it really needs to be a separate entity all around. ...And... aesthetics aside, if you place refined concrete through a base covered in normal concrete as a path for increased speed, knowing where those paths are would also be useful functionally.

Well the refined concrete looks nice...
... but what the hell am I going to do with all the hazard concrete now that refined hazard concrete is a thing and it doesn't require hazard concrete?
Guess I have to dump about 50000 (yeah I used it extensively) of it into a chest and put the shotgun to its use.
That or just leave it be even though I like the new texture more because it looks cleaner.
It would be better if one could convert them back to normal.
Really guys, you should start considering what people are supposed to do with all the garbage items that aren't convertible or upgrade-able or don't have any other purpose once they are obsolete or superceded. There shouldn't be any items that you just have to dump into a chest and destroy them because otherwise they would lie around there forever.
I also have a chest filled with 1000 Steam Engines and another one with almost as many boilers sitting around for almost a year now ever since Nuclear Power. What am I supposed to do with them... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don't want to put 50k Iron to waste.
Would be nice if Turbines required Steam Engines as ingredient and Heat Exchangers would require boilers as ingredient and deduct the difference in resources from the current recipe. That way one could get at least rid of them later on.
I agree on that. Since it requires steel plates and Iron sticks as ingredients it should actually be called reinforced concrete. Makes a lot more sense.

Design a circuit network that requests garbage into a chest and calls a train when there's enough. The train can then deliver your garbage to a garbage outpost far far away. It's called "realism" ¯\(シ)/¯.
Also suggesting to rename the english version of refined concrete to make it "easier to translate" is the funniest thing i've heared all day. That's not what "translation" means at all.

thanks for the new concretes.
actually it is good that it is called Refined, as could be confusing with some other mods that are using Reinforced items.
