Hi,

i have a heavily modded Space Exploration game running.
Since upgrading my PC from Intel i7 8700 to AMD 7800x3d i get game-crashes (CTD) every other hour.

Please see the log attached

That is one of the typical hardware instability crashes. If you can reliably make it crash (as in: Do X, do Y -> crash 100% of the time) post a save and steps that do, see 3638.

You can try lowering you RAM speed to 6000 and/or updating your motherboard's BIOS. I don't have a hands-on experience with it but I've read that 6000 is the sweet spot for Ryzen 7xxx. It might have changed since and you might be able to run higher speeds (with updated BIOS) but then you're going deeper into overclocking territory with increasing FCLK for optimal performance (I'm not sure if that is even possible on x3D variants).

thanks for the fast responses.

i am already on 6000 for my RAM, though it is marked for 6200.

I will try lowering some settings and keep you up to date.

Edit: strange: BIOS reported 6400, CPU-Z reported 3000 (x2) MTPS
changed it to 6000 on on BIOS now and adjusted some values for the CPU.

Do you think its more likely a CPU or a RAM issue?

Hi,

sadly turning down those values didnt help at all - but i wasnt able to find a way to reproduce those crashes.
So you might be right about an HW issue, though everything else like memtests and stability tests run fine... but i cant post anything regarding an error in the game here.
The logs also report different errors. 498,639....

More likely a CPU issue. If it was RAM, it would likely cause bit-flips and or corruption in the save file as well. From the crash logs it looks like it's executing instructions wrong on the CPU although I have no idea how that happens.
