a friend and i have a modded game (bobs mod), 52 hours.
somehow the biters attack less and are just chilling at their bases.

somehow i might agree its difficult to make their way through the narrow passage in the south but wouldnt it be possible to make it somehow ?

also biters are forming at their bases, right next to our base, with pollution.

I also had this issue when playing on the 0.17.50 build. Not sure when, but they seemed to stop attacking right around the time a full perimeter stone wall was completed. This continued to happen for several hours.

I'm just guessing, but I think my bug report, and this reddit post might all be related:

The general issues seems to be biters not moving when they really should be moving or attacking or something.

yeah, in 0.17.50 or so there was something broken but they fixed it, kinda.
the beginning of the game was ok. but everytime i play a while they seem to start breaking.

You are right that there is a chokepoint that they struggle with, which should be fixed in the next release.

The other part was the topology of the map – they struggled to pathfind around the lakes. Which should be fixed in 0.17.59.
