[0.11.8 MacOS] Crash loading from 0.10 game

First time I tested it with 0.11. I thought I make it first on the Mac, cause I normally use windows for playing. (=no importance for me fixing this)

Well, it is ... big! :)

Edit: To make it clear: The game is saved under windows7 64 bit, factorio version 0.10.12 with some modules installed and loaded under macos yosemite 10.10.1 without installed modules and 0.11.8 installed.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

I have none of them currently installed on the mac. (ok, base mod of course)

Good news: All other saves in this directory worked well.

The game simply freezes in the middle of loading the map, prompting a Windows error message (you know the one) for frozen programs. I've got no mods installed, but the save is from the same version as OP; 10.12.

The problem with the save have something to do with rails, the rail-layer mod was broken due to the error in Factorio.
It allowed to build two rails at the same position which corrupted the whole system.

There is also another problem when loading savegames that contained electric pole (or electric pole ranges), saved before 0.11.8 (from 0.11.8 the electric poles contain the range that they were saved with), and it leads to problems and crashes as well.

The problem is resolved, so it should no longer happen with new saves, with the old ones, I guess it is bad luck. You can also try to load all the mods and resave with 0.11.9.

I just want to say thanks. With the tip of the overlapping rails I found them and removed them. :)

I just want to mention: The above save loaded with 0.11.10 stucks after some seconds, so that only brute force can kill it. I think with the fixed map it should load, if not I will make more reply.
