I'm looking for a mod that spreads the players out from the start. Would love a customized config file in the mod if possible and maybe possible RSO Support.
That idea is my friend and I want to start about 10km away from each other but not have the biter population etc being crazy. Mainly the reason I said with RSO Support so it's not something else you have to rewrite. Then each of the player start with the basic resources around their base maybe using the RSO Settings.

I think it would be possible within RSO itself.
I can see two main problems:
1. It's really convinced that starting area is at 0,0. And that there is only one of them which is potentially a bit trickier.
2. I have no way to test anything I would prepare
Then there is a bit of usual problems.. like finding place for other players thats not in the water and probably few more tricky things.

But i solved the problem here: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=15052
The script captures the default starting area, and copies it to each teams new span location
It is compatible with RSO and/or any mods as far as im aware
