[0.10.0] Burner as energy source doesn't work properly

Post by Colombo »

For entity type Assembling machine and entity type Burner lab, changing from electricity to burner doesn't work.

Assembly machine doesn't recognize the "burner" and still ask for electricity.
Lab doesn't show container for burner-source.

The Burner Inserter also dont refuel itself when the Burner Inserter inserts a Burner.

Really? I was running burner-inserter line and haven't got a problem with them. They insert themselves only when they would normally insert stuff and then they decide if they are low on fuel to insert itself.

Fixed for 0.10.11
Fixes to make assembling machine/lab with burner energy source possible.
This gives me an ideas .... :)

Anyway, there are couple of entities that could have been fixed to allow burner energy source in the future, we will do them once it is requested.
 • Laser turrets
 • Roboport
 • Lamp
 • Beacon
 • Pump
 • Radar
But some of them don't even have gui, like lamp, pump and radar, so it would have to have gui just for the ones that have burner inserter and the gui would have to be created.
It is not complicated, neither too much work, but I will leave it for later now, as we have still 100+ bugs to be solved :)

The point with the burner inserter is that it only feeds itself if it has something that has a burn value. If it is feeding copper it will not feed itself with a coal inbetween. This behaviour has to be paid attention to as I think it is intended, unless its a bug that is.

Wonderfull:)

I don't think that coal-fueled laser turrets would be required. But pump and radar could be usefull. Steam pump is what caused revolution in minning industry. And what made steam engines so spread.

Don't you want a steampunk mod?
DT-Extend - DyTech ores and other things.

Well, maybe not a laser turret then, more a steamthrower turret or a javelin launcher, with a rope to get the javelin back.

That's great! Could we also get it the other way around, ie allowing boilers to work on electricity?

I would love to see the offshore pump require an energy source (burner, with a later electric version). It's too much like magic currently! (Funny that magic transport belts do not bother me, but water generation does.)
Like my mods? Check out another! Or see older, pre-0.12.0 mods.
