Re: [12.10] Bots not repairing

What will happen if you put repair packs in the chest? Then the bots will pick them up and go repairing and taking them with them to the next Roboport they rest in. Not having a passive provider or storage chest with repair packs is against the nature of robots anyways, because of: who fills robopo...

Re: Construction Request Chests

Thus: Construction materials are FINISHED goods. They aren't in queue for a factory by virtue of default. is just not true 100% of the time. Well, it's only true for the top tier finished goods and those that cannot be made into something else later on. There's no further use for concrete for examp...

Anyways, good work. Now, when will 0.13.0 hit the road?

Re: Playing on 2 computers

Well, I do it the oldschool way. I start my factorio via batch file with an integrated batchmenu, one option is: Start, the other option: Download and Start. Start does start factorio, Download and Start connects to my FTP and puts the files into the save-directory. At the end, when I close Factorio...

Transport belts? I use logistic robots for that, WAY more effective! And, you never have idle robots =)

Re: [0.11.17] Biters attacking Rails, Signals, power lines etc.

To me it was always a bit odd that you could place power lines and railways all over the place and they were ignored. This way it's much more fun to play, since you finally have to take out bases if you want to pacify a region. Remember the native americans? They attacked the rails aswell, though, w...

Re: Monitor selection available in demo but not in full game?

The option is still there.

At least it was when I installed 11.8 on my dual screen PC and I could select which monitor to use. Need to check when back home.

Re: gun vs laser turret balance: play around with range

I personally like my gun turrets, there's always a mix of both. Though I started all of this by accident: I've had 2 factories producing normal and piercing ammo into a steel chest each, without limitation. In the end I decided to put the ammunition to a good use and put some gun turrets to the lase...

Re: The most useless thing in game.

First I used Handgrenades to remove forests, then I realized: Oh, you cannot built on craters, screw that! Now I use construction robots to get rid of forests, it's way better.

I sometimes use Rocketlaunchers against early worms, they're quite useful.

'Water' finds it way back into nature by rain, it's not finite. So that approach is a bit far off. As usual.

Re: Items, too big for the inventory

Sometimes, sooner or later ... a game collides heavily with realism and then it's good to remind yourself that it's only a game and most people play games to have some fun (or !!FUN!! in some cases). To keep people playing a game you need to keep the fun inside.

Re: How do YOU fight biter nests?

Early game:

Standard nests: piercing ammo + grenades

Standard nests with Worms: Rocket launcher for the worms, piercing ammo + grenades for the rest.

Mid/Late game: Power lines + Laser turret abuse. Shotgun with piercing rounds + Power Armor with lots of walker modules. Speed safes lifes!

I almost assume it's a 'peaceful' game, otherwise the pollution should have caused them already to attack and shred everything to pieces. Especially the radars would have caused attacks.

Re: Check for updates first, load assets later

Maybe it's even better to put in a button at first: "Check for update? YES/NO" before loading the whole game. There are still some people that play on systems without internet all the time, and there has to be some timeout for a server request before the program should continue, which agai...

Re: [0.11.11] Default logistic value shouldn't be one stack

To make everyone happy you should set the default to 0, and whenever you add an item to the box it should automatically move the cursor to the 'set amount' field where you then can enter your number requested. Be it via slider or numpad for example. This would not cause any trouble with anyone, I'm ...

Re: [Request] Tree Harvester Vehicle

There's always the Shotgun, your #1 problem solver in so many ways. Grenades work fine aswell, but they leave nasty craters that can destroy all your ambitions, so use them with care or not at all.
