What's wrong with that starting position? You can walk on the light parts of water..

I like this idea but think it would be better suited as a mod. Unless they decide to add 'dirt industry' to the game. :p

Re: New guy needs help.

Hi, just bought this game and it really looks interesting but I'm running into a couple of issues.. 1. I cannot pick up items off the ground whatsoever. 2. Not even the transport belts are working properly and I don't understand why. Some coal just stopped at a corner and won't go around the bend t...

Re: Last item added to your inventory 'flash'

Thank you for this game. A request: Inventory management : I have difficulty, in a loaded inventory, locating the objects that I placed into it. I would like some sort of easy solution to this, such as a ping and flash animation showing the most recent item added to the inventory. That would make i...

Your processor is very weak, I'd say it's the bottleneck. Whether it's causing the problem or not is another question. :P

Maybe it's the autosave? Although 4 times a minute is a bit much. Hmm... most likely the processor.

It's some kind of anti-malware built into OS X? Does this help? In the Finder, locate the app you want to open. Most apps can be found in the Applications folder. Press the Control-key and click the app icon. Choose Open from the pop-up menu. Click Open. Source: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11436

I know what you mean. I play this a lot with headphones on, and when that woman used to shout in my ears in 0.8.8 I used to jump out of my skin.

It's better now but I still agree a popup window would work better.

Re: Yet another Factorio let's play

Hi slay_mithos, thanks for the post. I do agree with you on the peaceful mode thing for 0.8.8, which is why I have it turned off with my new playthrough, so I'll definitely be delving into that area of the game (which I don't do often when playing in my own time, so there may be a lot of surprises i...

The new graphics/placement for the electric poles are somewhat confusing for me. http://i.imgur.com/Lanr9Ce.png This is how I placed some electric poles, and as you can see there is a space of two between the two furnaces. But with the pole being in the middle like that makes it look like there is a...

Re: Well that was an interesting game!

I'm not sure what I did. I was messing with map settings beforehand and got that as a result. Then every map I generated after had the same thing.

Only way I could stop it was by restarting the game.

Well that was an interesting game!

Spawned right next to a huge biter nest, with mediumish biter nests below and above me, and a tiny one to my right.

Google-translate is s*****. Can anybody translate the Russian? I can't say for sure, but I think in the first suggestion he's asking for something like scroll bars, so the menu doesn't take up most of the screen. (in mods) Second one, I think he's asking for an extra drop down list, to change all l...

Re: Conveyer Belts

I don't know what OP wants the two way belts for, I can think of a few reasons for using a belt that way. But it'd be in small, insignificant sections of the base where double belts would work just fine, so yes probably better suited for a mod when possible. The problem I have with this thread is ev...
