Re: Talking about the circuit design process
What's not clear to me is why you went from F = When B = 0 and C = 1. to F = When E = 0 and C = 1. At that step, it doesn't look like a simplification. I will be happy to explain. E = When B = 1 F = When B = 0 and C = 1. E = When B = 1 F = When E = 0 and C = 1. Now if E is true when B is true. Then...

Re: Small face inside alien artifacts?
Yeah I noticed that right away and it reminded me of "Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet" a lot as well. Now why we need alien eggs to research advance technologies or better yet build futuristic tech is beyond me. Are they made of some rare polymer that is impossible to synthesize or somet...

Re: Talking about the circuit design process
lol all the work for some think that can be do with out circuit at all. 1) put a line of transport belts one end going to what you are ging to ful. 2) at the top belt/Requester chest in wood( at top it will all ways got on the line) 3) next in line Smart inserter with coal > 2k (so work if wore tha...

Re: Night switch for steam engines based on combinators
If I had access to the wiki, I would prolly delete ... Well they don't need to give you access to include your design in the wiki. They just need your permission to do so. Edit: Maybe not delete, but add some heavy caveats as to when they are applicable, including pros and cons to each type of desi...

Re: Talking about the circuit design process
I've been thinking really hard to figure out what is the method my brain naturally use to come up with answers and I think I may have found it. Tell me if the following method make sense to you or if my crazy brain works in crazy ways Phase 1 What are the simple initial questions that you need an an...

Re: Talking about the circuit design process
Well I guess you did a better job at figuring out the best simplification of the logic combinations by eliminating the redundant ones. So no wonder that you need much less combinators to implement the same. But I guess that doesn't make his design approach bad, because he got a working solution, ju...

Re: Talking about the circuit design process
I like your thought process... because I'm normally facing similar problems due to how the circuit stuff is way too abstract for my every-day usage. I will probably use your approach the next time I want to do something with the circuit stuff and see if I cope better. :D I don't know if I would rec...

Re: Talking about the circuit design process
Omg, that sound needlessly complicated. I don't even understand your part with arithmetic combinators. If wood > 0 then A = 1 If gas > 2000 then B = 1 If coal > 2000 then C = 1 If B > A Then D = 1 If C > D Then E = 1 Wood inserters always work Solid fuel inserters only work if D = 1 Coal inserters o...

Re: Night switch for steam engines based on combinators
I have improved on this design a bit since I first posted it, certainly you remember it? You replied to the topic 3 months ago. It seems to be just generally ignored. But there you go, no inserters used, no wire conditions used, and no leakage. Instant response to power conditions. What more could ...

Well it certainly feel different from the usual grassy/sandy background. Adding walls on the perimeter give the illusion of an actual factory building with the ceiling removed so that we can see.

Re: Night switch for steam engines based on combinators
A thing one could try to do is creating a synchronous-clock system... where there is a clock #1 outputting signal #1 in the maingrid and another clock #2 outputting signal #2 behind an accumulator with the accumulator being on both grids. Once clock #2 loses it's power because of the shared accumul...

Re: Combat robots useless?
Did you consider that the Combat Shotgun gives a 20% bonus? No, I did not. Kinda important. Base pellet damage = 6 + 7.2 = 13.2 Two option here. Depend on how the game is coded. 13.2 * 1.2 * 0.8 - 8 = 4.672 13.2 * (1 + 0.2 - 0.2) - 8 = 5.2 Judging by how the game handle multiple modules, let's go w...

On the other hand, here's your flippant reply, full of attitude: Now that I read it again, I guess that it could come across badly. But when I wrote that I was calm and meant no offence. What I meant to say is only that it was not aimed at you and that I would not take it personal if you chose to b...

Re: Let's Ruin Threads by Arguing about Logistics Chests
I would like to add that I do not remember reading a part asking us to take our discussion elsewhere. Because if I saw that I would have complied.
Unless that is what you meant by "my head explodes" or "crit damage for 9999". Because if it was it wasn't clear enough for me.

Re: Latest science factory (feedback requested)
Checked the numbers using the 8 assembler 3 blue science as the desired rate (1.2 red, green and blue science produced per second). Here are the bottlenecks: - need over 23 iron plates per second - express belt - need more than 7 steel furnaces - need 4 assembler 3's for circuit production - need m...

Re: Factorio Strategy Guide; Need Your Input
I don't mean to rain on your parade, but you may not be the best man for the #2 option, Xterminator. I recall a recent post on the /r/ where you made the bold claim that you had mastered all the 0.11 mechanics, but you just recently figured out how to make the 3:2 circuit build work correctly. This...
