[1.1.33] Sudden drops in FPS every few seconds

Heyho,

in hope someone could give me clue why my save constantly drops from perfectly fine fps/ups to single digits fps back to 60/60.
The save is still very early (60hours mp save).
This happens for everyone on the server at the same time.

Things i already tried:
  • Monitoring my pc stats - VRAM 6,0gb / 8,0gb - RAM: 9GB / 16GB - CPU - 50% peakload on cores
  • Loaded the save-game in single player - In case the server does something funny - But same behavior in sp
  • removed unneeded mods
  • Because we are using "Space Exploration", so checked every discovered planet for running surface scans & and deleted every planet /
  • Time usage - Shows me a spike in entity updates
  • GPU time usage - During a spike Waiting for Updates also spikes until
    • During this time usage shows higher values because the game doesn't update at all.

      Over time the spikes get more frequent and cause harder drops. (down to 2-5 fps with kinda stable 55+ ups)

      Time-Usage images shows both cases as you can see, during a fps drop and when the game behaves :P

Could someone confirm the same drops on his machine? Does factorio provide any way to debug tools where all processing-time get lost?

The fps drops themselves are simply caused by your machine being slower than the server at which point the client stops rendering to not get dropped. The debug overlay cannot tell you exactly what causes the CPU hog beyond "entity update" takes longer.
Check what the factory does while the performance is bad, disconnect parts of the factory and check if the issue persists...
Slowing down the server would fix the FPS drops on the clients, see 68653.
