Factorio demo startup crash

The title says it... the moment I launch Factorio.exe, it kinda... goes nuts. It starts opening and closing windows at insane speed for about half a minute before giving me the error "failed to create display". The log file is anything but helpful:

22:42:09 Info None: 2015:04:13; Factorio 0.10.12 (Build 10773, win64)
22:42:28 Error None: failed to create display!
22:42:29 Info None: Goodbye

As you can see, I'm running 64 bit windows. I have downloaded the right demo version for it. I've already checked both my drivers and my DirectX, both are up to date. Now I'm at my wits end. Anyone have an idea how to fix this?
Some more information:

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 200
Dedicated Video Memory: 2048 MB

Ugh, can't believe I overlooked that. Sadly, the issue remains. Experimental demo log file is about as helpful:

So... Factorio works. I have not the slightest bit of a clue where the problem disappeared to but it did anyways. Bought the full version just now, no problem with that either.
Thanks for trying to help anyways, FishSandwich.

Ah, weird, glad you got it fixed anyway.
