Power Generation doesn't work while off screen

I have a very strange issue where it appears that my power generation setup despawns while I'm not looking at it. If I stand by the steam engines, they fully satisfy my power, but when I zoom in and walk a little bit away my power satisfaction drops to 0, and when clicking on a power pole it does not list that there are any steam generators, but when they are in view the power poles correctly list them as existing. Also, issue still exists on restart and does not exist on other saves.
