some items could be reinforced such as

reinforced iron

reinforced steel

its much more durable and be made into reinforced walls or reinforced gun turrets

how to make them maybe cook steel into reinforced steel and iron not sure I want your opinions on how to make reinforced iron

if u have more ideas then I would appreciate it if you post the ideas

There are several mods, which do similar stuff. You should take a look first on them.
