I've seen more than one person recommend deleting all your radars to save energy once the map is fully revealed.

Then I learned that the radars continually update alien activity after revealing the map, so I thought maybe I should leave at least one active.

Then I learned that they still scan sector-by-sector so it's not actually real-time info on what the aliens are doing.

So now I'm confused. Should I remove them all or not?

The map doesn't change much after it has been revealed. You need to have a specific playstyle to justify keeping them, like clearing nests and neglecting to defend the new territory.

Personally I keep them, because late game power is usually not issue as you can usually expand very easily and endlessly. Plus the fact they do keep a small area actively updates is nice.
Think it is really just a matter of preference.
