I was playing on a window while watching a movie on a small browser window on a side. Then I ALT+TABBED to the video window and the screen filled with noise and stopped responding, I had to reboot from the power button.

Now my computer screen its like this:

and with moving noise everywhere and crashes constantly.

My game version 0.11.16 on Linux 64bits. My graphic card was a Gigabyte Geforce 460gtx

If you reboot your computer and it has issue, it's most likely that something else was the root cause of this, and the game was a coincidence. Or the graphics driver is crashing (maybe got correupted) or something weird happened (like a hardware fail on the GPU). A regular game can't do damage to a GPU.

The first thing I'd try to do is take the graphics card out, gently blow on the connector to remove any dust, then put it back in, making sure it is firmly in place.

That's hardware failure. Contact Gigabyte and see if the card is still under warranty to get it replaced.

No piece of software on your computer is able to break hardware - you just happened to be playing Factorio when you saw the results of the failure.

Ok, I rebooted and unplugged and it just make the problem worse...

It was exactly on the moment I alt+tabbed when it started, thats why I thought that developers should know but yep, probably was just a coincidence

The game did some demanding stuff, so it probably just triggered something that was already wrong. But there should be at least 3 safety layers between the game and the hardware card malfunction (drivers, system, hardware).
