You need to replace the "t" in the topic with an "e". ;)

Well, posting PC specs is always about ePeen.

Let me post mine.

Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64bit

CPU: QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450, 2666 MHz (8 x 333)
Board: Gigabyte GA-X48-DS5
RAM: 8192 MB (DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM)
Video: AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series (3072 MB)
Monitor 1: Samsung SyncMaster 226CW (Digital) [22" LCD] (HS3Q203314)
Monitor 2: Samsung SyncMaster 226CW (Digital) [22" LCD] (HS3Q203430)

Audio Adapter Creative SB X-Fi Audio Controller - 7.1

Storage Controller GIGABYTE GBB36X Controller
Storage Controller Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R/ICH10R/DO/PCH SATA RAID Controller
Disk Drive storage 2 (1266 GB, IDE, RAID 0)
Disk Drive backup (931 GB, IDE)
Disk Drive storage 1 (931 GB, IDE, RAID 0)
Disk Drive system (131 GB, IDE, RAID 0)
Optical Drive TSSTcorp CDDVDW SE-S204N

Maybe the most important information:

System installation date: November 19th, 2009 - 09:13:57 am

I know, it's ancient, it's running as on day 1, it's clean, it's mine! The only thing that has been changed since it's original configuration is the graphics adapter.

But hey, what do you expect from someone in it's thirties, who's driving a motorbike which is 20 years old and which is also still running as on day one ... the only thing I love fresh and young are women in their early 20s!

i5 4670K
8GB
GTX970
Samsung 840 EVO 500GB

But that doesn't matter at all for Factorio.

Last significant amount of money i spent for my PC-systems was for two good color-calibrated IPS-monitors.
Spending more than 1000 on a "Gaming PC" is just absolute overkill (Even with SDD, fine casing, silent components etc). Expensive overclocked RAM maybe gets you 1-3% better performance for twice the $ in typical situations.

 "Boot Drive(Windows only for ultra fast booting): Samsung 850 PRO 1TB SSD"

Okkay the boot drive is not windows only, i have other OSs also on it. But as this PC is running 3 Full-HD screens and i want to be playing a different game on each and do video editing on this, i need this for it.

I have two computers with exactly the same components and memory speeds, one for work and one for home.

One of them has memory latencies 9 and one of them 8.

The latency itself makes more than 6% of difference of compile time of Factorio. Did you know that the computer just waits for memory data most of the time?

Amd fx 8350 8 core cpu @4.3ghz with a coolermaster hyper evo cpu cooler

nvidia gtx 760 mini oc edition

And a crap 1T storage drive that bottlenecks the entire pc

In a lecture on operating systems I heard the prof give a very nice comparison of memory access times to real world equivalents. I think this was about it:
CPU registers -> short term memory (immediate access)
CPU cache -> long term memory (may take a few minutes until you remember something)
RAM -> the info you seek is written down somewhere within a one hour drive. go find it.
HDD -> the info you seek is on the other side of the planet. get on a plane to find it.
tape (still in use!) -> hitch a ride on the next voyager mission, fly to pluto, find the info, return

I just built myself a brand new tower a few months ago, so I've got some rather nice hardware. Cost me a pretty penny too. About $2500 CAD once it was all said and done.
