Yeah, that was a problem of me also, but i needed the oil for plastic. And didnt want belts and pipes all over the place.

This wasn't expandable in a sense that it was modular (adding layer to more production). you still have to move building if the reserved space you allocated is not enough, etc.
Not trying to rain down your creation, but i'm looking for a modular design for science stuff.

dunno if this is 'modular' enough but.. the common 5-6-12 in a compact neat block (used with main bus).
