Blueprint behaviour

There seems to be a relatively new behaviour with blueprints that I'm struggling with. When I go into my Blueprint books to use a blueprint, it is removing the blueprint from the books... I even ended up leaving one behind on a server and it took me a while to figure out which one so I could get it back.. I'm confused because when I used to grab one from the book it was always grabbing a copy before. What is the new way to "grab a copy" instead of the original?! Anyone have a youtube video talking about the new changes?

There's a copy button. Not a video but https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-356 covers the changes.

Not quite. Not it, you.
If you don't remove things from your library, then they stay there. And you can use them from the library directly. When you pick it up, it still exists where the hand symbol is in your library. And if you press Q to clear your cursor it will stay there. And if you llink it to your quickbar it also stays in your library. The quickbar is NOT an inventory. Only if you drop the blueprint in your character inventory, the ground, a box or other inventory or the "game blueprints" tab will they be moved to the server and out of your library ("My blueprints").

You can make a copy. But don't. Just use it directly from the library (which includes quickbar) and DON'T move it out of it. Only copy if you want someone else on the server to have access to a copy of it. Or if you want to make a copied version that you then immediatly modify. But that version should also be saved in you library if you want to keep it.

As Qon said, and let me stress the part I find the most important :

I think this is the way the devs indended things to be done when they refactored the blueprint library.

Thanks all. I'm still a fan of the original quickbar. I haven't gotten used to this one yet LOL I guess that's part of my problem. :) Thanks for the note that dropping it there vs. my inventory keeps it in the book. That'll be the way forward I think. That'll also force me to use that quickbar more than I do today.
