If you have multiple alerts with different icons they are all shown together with the same icon.
You would expect to see multiple icons if there are alerts with differing icons (right now this renders the icon moot in many situations).

Thanks for the report. That is intended. Moving to ideas and suggestions.

Alright, hopefully not intended in terms of limiting the usefulness of the otherwise very useful alerts though.
More specifically, right now new alerts aren't even visible while there are still old alerts, which arguably limits their usefulness as alert.

So I'm hopeful some of you guys will find time to improve this eventually. : )
