I understand this error was reported here:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=59771
But I am continually having the same crash even after attempting fix.
Chipsets up to date, BIOS up to date, GPU driver up to date.
System hardware is beyond min requirements, performance is optimum during play. The crash happens primarily during multiplayer. No rhyme or reason, never doing anything specific.
Factorio Logs:
-
- No mods
-
Occasionally I will get this log/error:
-
Last but not least, the occasional Blue Screen Of Death:
-

- Rare occurence but has happened a couple of times
- Blue screen error.jpg (6.56 MiB) Viewed 2166 times

Thanks for the report, blue screen of death means you have hardware issues; you need to test your system and figure out what piece of hardware has gone bad and get it replaced.
The blue-screen process creates dump files which can help point you at what piece of hardware is broken.
Moving to technical help.

I figured it was a hardware issue, but I never have these errors for any other game I run on my machine. This is the first hardware issues I have experienced since upgrading my system in early June.
This is the only dump file my event viewer was directing me to. I am new to searching through the logs on windows. Please correct me if I am wrong in sharing.

Google "diagnosis blue screen windows 10" and ask for help in a hardware or windows forum providing the windows dump files.

I am a little confused as to why everything falls on the blue screen. The blue screen happens a small percentage of the time. Otherwise I am swamped with the rendering error. And Factorio is the only game any of these errors/ the blue screen occur on. But you are certain the blue screen is entirely an issue on my end?

You have had more than a single bluescreen, meaning you have a hardware issue.
The game logs can not show you what part of your machine is broken.
The OS dumps might show what part is broken.
If you want to know what is broken diagnose the bluescreens or swap parts until it works.

I am in the process of diagnosing the blue screen, but there isn't anything strange about Factorio being the only process that causes a blue screen on my machine? Even if I have malfunctioning hardware, why would it only show that malfunction when I am running one specific task? I appreciate your input and patience, and these questions don't necessarily have to be answered by you, I just think it's strange I don't experience any other issues when using the machine daily unless I am on Factorio.

Different programs stress a computer in different ways, and Factorio can be quite stressful in certain ways. Stressing your hardware a lot is the best way to make sure that it's absolutely stable (eg. why people run stress tests after overclocking), and I've seen more than a couple posts here where Factorio brought forth a hardware/stability issue that wasn't present in lighter programs.

Different user (
83559), who didn't have BSODs, but the game was crashing on AMD Ryzen 5 3600, had some luck with reducing number of render threads in graphics settings, so you can try that.

Brilliant! Reading through that post I also noticed that overlocking anything whatsoever with AMD CPU will likely cause the crash. Just last night when the crashing was much more frequent I realized it's because I was messing with my RAM speeds. I will set the RAM speeds back to normal and adjust the render threads and hope that is a fix. I'm a simple man that just wants to build!
