I whitelisted a power pole to my deconstruction planner, but it still tries to remove all entities:

You aren't using the deconstruction planner with the filters. You pressed "Alt + D" or clicked the button which puts an empty un-configured deconstruction planner in your cursor.

You need to click or use the hotkey for the deconstruction planner in your inventory that *is* filtered if you want to actually use it.

Yeah, you can even see the blank deconstruction planner in the cursor, and what appears to be the filtered planner in the quick bar.
