What?

When placing rail signals, a preview of the placements of stopped trains is shown. The number of those preview wagons can be set in [settings] - [interface] - [train visualization length]. I'd like to see the count/number of those boxes.

Why?

I am lazy. I tend to set the train visualization length only so often. From time to time, I need to visualize a position shorter than set, but I don't want to stop the workflow to change the setting.

This is fundamentally the same as
“Color the last train wagon...”

Ya and it would make sense to see also “forward” into drive direction (negative numbers). Also already suggested somewhere... didn’t find it any more.

If there is a chance to revive this idea, i really hope this is possible.

I've been looking ~30min for a mod that would do something like this, haven't found any :/

Came up again under the FFF-377 discussion.

With so much rail/train QoL stuff coming in 2.0, improvements to signal and train-stop preview visualizations would make an already awesome release unbelievably useful.

Some may be colorblind though, but i would still prefer to seeing numbers.

But also very often i'd need to see the preview in front of the signal in addition to behind. That could maybe done by holding some modifier key if it's too confusing otherwise?
