Hello,

after updating Factorio from 0.11.11 to 0.11.13, I can't start Factorio any longer, as it states, that Factorio requires Service pack 1 on Windows 7. The problem is, that service pack 1 is installed on my PC since the release of this service pack.
When I have a look at the System screen within the control panel it states clearly, that I have

Code: Select all

Windows 7 Home Premium
Coypright ...
Service Pack 1

And the system informations show me following Version:

Code: Select all

Version	6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601

I tried to reinstall Factorio 0.11.13 (64bit version). But this doesn't resolve the problem.

The log states following entries (created during update, as no one will be created after update):

Code: Select all

3674.268383  Info Logger.cpp:148: 2015:01:23 18:50:24; Factorio 0.11.11 (Build 13081, win64)

Any suggestions?

Most likely the issue is you're running Home Premium. It should work on that but the version check may not be accounting for "Home Premium" over Professional.

Kovarex will need to fix it. In the mean time using a older version should let you keep playing.

Only wanted to mention, that I have the problem also with 0.11.14.

Is there a way to install the scenario pack separately (without the updater)?

I tested Factorio 0.11.14 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and it ran without any errors.

Do you have the compatibility set for the game to "Windows 7"? That will trigger the error.

This was the reason. I can't remember, that I had set this. It must be a long time ago (Perhaps to try to fix the crashes during AutoUpdating Factorio).

And I also expect, that this will be resetted after uninstalling and reinstalling Factorio, so I didn't had a look at this option
