Split savegames into game and saves.

TL;DR
A "game" would be the map you created from a seed and the saves would be snapshots in time of your progress of said map.
What ?
Introduce an extra layer of abstraction "game" which can have one or more saves.
I believe this would better fit the mental model most users build when using the interface.
The continue button should refer to the current game by name.
Why ?
No accidental overwrites of different games by design.
A set of autosaves for all games would yield more safety and a better experience.
Less clutter when saving/reloading.
Why not ?
It's an extra layer of abstraction.
Not a very common concept, but I think I vaguely remember seeing it before.
More bandwidth/storage required for extra autosaves.
Finally
A bit jet-lagged, so this suggestion is a little "drafty", but let me know what you think :)
Also steam nuked my latest save costing me 50 hours of intense refactoring. Really could have used those fucking autosaves :-/

What if you use the same seed for a second try? Seed is not the distinction-criteria of what a game is.

A separate game-id would work just as well.
The point is not the id, but separation of concerns.

Sorry if I worded it badly, a bit tired yesterday :-)
