I would like to be able to read the total number of repair packs available to construction robots when "robot statistics" is selected for a roboport.

There's not much more to say.

I was always under the impression that the bots just take from repair packs from the logistic network when it needs them ...

They do (and also the roboports themselves can hold inventory).

However, the roboport needs to be in "read logistics network" mode to get that number. It's not directly available in "read robot statistics" mode.

Of course, taking repair packs from chests is a common used workaround for this, but then why do roboports have slots for repair packs in the first place ...
