TL;DR

the module request icons and power blinky icons both interfere with seeing what a machine is doing.

a more sensible solution is to have it in a particular corner of the machine like lower left corner - or, to have alt view display over this interface, since we can always then disable it to see whether machine has power or not.

otherwise it sort of breaks alt view.

Also several requests that the blinking itself is annoying. I use a mod that reduces the size o% the icons for now. https://mods.factorio.com/mod/SmoothWarnings
I think there are others, but this one is in my eyes a good compromise.
