when I bought the game I started a new map and set up a base but when I got a boiler ready to go and plugged into the pipes and added the coal it started for about 2 seconds then stopped completely and you halve to brake it then replace and it just happens agene.

thanks for reading for this stops me from researching an alternate power.

Do you have a screenshot? It might be that your boiler isn't connected to steam engines correctly, or you aren't using power, or... ...

The steamengines do not work i there is nothing wich wants power

Looks legit. Boilers will idle once their water hits 100C. Steam engines will not consume hot water until something needs power. Pretty much everything in factorio will safely idle when it is not needed.

Build some factory to use that power.
