Not long after loading into the game the video freezes. I can move around and mine ores but the screen stays frozen. If I alt tab or press the windows key it will start back but very soon after freezes again.
I have tried reinstalling from the experimental (same problem) to the stable and that didn't fix it.

I deleted all my saves and have no mods. This was a fresh game. Returning player hoping to get back into the game again.

I am having this issue too and came to the forums to see if anyone else is reporting it. I've narrowed it down to the new AMD Radeon 2020 drivers (v19.12.2) and the Radeon Enhanced Sync setting. Once I turn it on my game seems to visually lock up after ~5 seconds, but if I alt-tab away and back it resumes (only to lock up again in a few seconds). If I click another window and click back to Factorio, it does not resume, I actually have to alt-tab back into the game to get it to "un-lock" the visuals. When I turn off Enhanced Sync this does not happen.

Radeon Adrenalin 2020 Edition 19.12.2 driver (aticfx64.dll 26.20.15002.61) seems to be bugged:

Try to disable Enhanced Sync and @phersick suggested, or installe previous version of Radeon driver (or wait for them to release a hotfix)
