[0.11.8] Grenade Crater Blocks building

I was using grenades to clear the trees and tried to build on the Crater which is created where the grenade lands. It blocks building and the effect doesn't go away.
System Information:
i7 950, 12GB Ram, 2GB GDDR5 GTX 660
Windows 7 Pro

It goes away in few minutes.

Why should a crater go away at all?
Perhaps you should be allowed to "mine" it to make it go away (faster)?
