Use requester/storage chest for rapid expansion

I have been playing around with blueprints to explore their possibilities for rapid expansion. I designed a simple corridor blueprint that also requests and stores enough objects needed to place down another corridor so I can expand without having to carry any materials except for the blueprint.

Using logistics robots seems to be the only practical solution. Basically I have one requester requesting the items which are loaded in a storage chest using an inserter so they can be used by builder robots if I want to add another expansion. Problem is that as soon as the items are placed in the storage chest, logistics robots are taking them out and bringing them back over to the requester chest. Is there a way to make items accessible to builder robots but not to logistics robots?

Put them in a passive provider chest (the red one). They have the lowest priority.

Prio for taking items is: active provider, storage, passive provider. So as long as the active or storage is filled, they don't take from passive.

With your idea: can you show us some pics in "show your creations" please? I want to see, if this is really useful.

No. See this thread for some crazy suggestions, the most reasonable is to assemble the items in place and request the ingredients.

There is nothing particularly impressive about it, it's just me messing with some ideas. But here are some pics if you are interested.
