Hey,
i would like to know, how Factorio calculates.
With 1024 or 1000?
(Binary prefixes Megabyte/Mebibyte)

As example:
I have a total power of 836 GW.
Now I want to calculate this into MW.
Do I have to calculate 836*1000 or 836*1024?
That 2,4% matter for me.

The only thing that ever uses 1024 is bits and bytes, and that only when it's not written by a marketroid. I don't think even Hz ever uses 1024, and pixels certainly don't. (That "4k" screen uses 960.)
So 1 GW is 1,000,000,000 watts.

But if the 2.4% difference is significant, you should probably just bite the bullet and design for the higher value. It never hurts to have extra power generation (at least not once you start talking about GW) and Factorio unconditionally rounds down. So 836,999,999,999 watts would still be reported as 836 GW.

Real 4k (film-derived standard) is 4096 columns (and can have any aspect ratio).
UHD-1 "4k" (TV-derived standard) is 3840 columns (and 2160 lines, because always 16:9).
