How is is possible to make 1.9k Space Science.
(I have the game save if you want it.)

Did you remove all the space science from the rocket silo before launching? If not, it may have overwritten some science packs.

I have 2 rocket silos. they have each launched 1 rocket. Nothing was left in the silo.

Probably a rounding bug.

Numbers are averaged over the selected time period. So possibly the silos didn't output science the whole time.

It doesn't show in the screen clip, but the time frame is ALL.

The reason I noticed is I have a technology which is at 99% complete, just needs 1 or 2 more science to finish. I went to check to see which science pack I was out of, and all the rest are good, except space.

No clue why the production graph is "wrong", but it's never been perfectly precise.
As for the "one bottle missing" that's probably the research rounding bug: viewtopic.php?t=58383
If you have a brownout during research some tiny fraction of the bottles is lost.

If you have efficiency modules, wouldn't you be having a slight surplus of space science packs anyway? Seems like too much for any tiny brownout bug to be the sole cause.

Did the efficiency bonus somehow add up from 1900 to give 99%? Seems unlikely, even a 6% boost would give 2014 equivalent packs. Or where would that surplus have gone? Not sure. (Assuming you're researching some of the tech that costs multiples of thousands.)

I would be inclined to chalk that 1900 number up to just a statistics bug but that might not even be an educated guess.

Just for the record: "1.9k" could be anything between 1900 and 1999.

Anything between 1900 and 1999.9999999999, since the production screen uses decimals.

I am way overpowered so brownout is unlikely, but I did save and reload the game during this research, so that is most likely the issue.

Thanks for the pointer to the existing thread.

I would have expected the display to use rounding towards nearest whole number (not trying to start a debate about 0.5 tie breaking methods).

It isn't what I expected either, at first, but it does mean if you're trying to build a 1k SPM base, you don't have to wonder if that "60k" science packs over the past hour is really 59501.

Right. The current system wouldn't make you wonder if 60k is really 59501, but the OP makes you wonder if your 59,999 (displayed as 59k) is really 60k.

The question here is not how does the game round. I think it's obvious that the game truncates to whatever it can display. The question is why does is think that he has only made (presumably) 1,999 space science, instead of 2,000 exactly?
