Issue
Whenever I launch Factorio (Version 10.12) and the loading bar gets to 87%, it crashes, saying "Error when loading darksand4.png". I tried opening it on my computer (I.E. image viewer outside of Factorio) it doesn't work, and explorer.exe stops responding.

Is there a way for me to fix this problem without having to reinstall? I just spent seven hours on a world for the past few days after buying it.

If I do have to reinstall, then I'll probably attempt to back up the save and reinstall. But if I don't that would be convenient.

You won't lose your saves or setting if you reinstall.

For your problem, it could be solved if you update the game to the most recent version(0.11.8)

darksand doesn't sound like a name from the base game. What mods do you have enabled? Maybe post a log file, but simply deleting mods directory and reinstalling your mods should help.
