Modular Science Production

So I put together a handful of designs for science production. The goal was to have, in the minimum possible footprint, a complete mini-factory for the production of one product- namely, science.

Designs are:

Science 2

Science 3

These designs were made with the intent that they could be copied and pasted with blueprints and construction robots to meet science consumption as necessary, provided that the relevant materials for production were delivered. Science 3 is very much a work in progress, I have it functioning in a multiplayer game that's on hold at the moment although I'm well aware it needs more work done to be automated properly.

I was hoping anybody with more experience than me - I have maybe 20, 30 hours of playtime total, and haven't gotten very well-advanced in any of those attempts at playing - could provide advice. Main questions are - is this a dumb terrible inefficient idea, would I be better just mass-producing materials elsewhere and transporting them over? Are there more efficient designs already floating around for something like this?

You can save much space with a better layout. One gear production can supply more than 5 red science productions. The same for one inserter production. One transport belt production can supply even more green science productions.

You can save much space with this informations.
