Thanks for the report. That is intended: underground belts do "flipping" logic every time one is built and so you can't drag them horizontally like that.

This would be desired behaviour though. If you are dragging over underground belts that already exist, since it already does the otherside for you, it would make sense to exclude that side swapping behavior, just for this.


Or, honestly, allow a method to suppress this behavior, since in some cases it would be nice to drag them sideways, like when making a 4 tile wide bus or w.e.

I must admit that he flipping logic often ends up with me mining the entity and placing it again in the right orientation, lol. Like when making that bus Ranakastrasz talked about. I suppose you really only want it to flip if the next placement you do is connected to the previous one. Or even auto rotation to connect to an unmatched one in general. But this is a hard UX case.

Note that, like with belts in general, you can also hover your mouse over it and hit (Shift+) R.

Ah cool, I didn't know pressing Shift in addition to R will rotate it instead of reverse it.

My bad, that's what not I meant, just that there are only two "rotations" available, so both R and Shift+R will have the same effect of reversing both underground ends.

Ah, when talking earlier about mining entities I meant they were placed upside down due to the flipping mechanic.
