Need help with steam engine

Hello!
New player here... What did I do wrong, why is the steam engine not working? All 4 boilers have coal, their water temperature is 100 degrees. But the steam engine does not produce power, and it says it's water temperature is 20 degrees? Help?
EDIT: nevm, found out why: I did not have any buildings requiring power yet. Apparently there needs to be demand for the generator to start working.
