I really wasn't sure how to title this correctly.
I have a ryzen 1700 machine with 16gb ddr4 memory on a fiber optic gigabyte capable connection. I've ran minecraft servers, rust servers, terraria servers, and I thought I was having no issue running a factorio server.

However, one of the guys I play with just gets random lags it seems like. His guy will run in place and the server will say it's dropping him from the map randomly and then catch right back up. This only happens to HIM on MY server. Everyone else we play with has 0 issues at all what so ever on my same server. Including myself on a seperate gaming pc on the same network.

I have correctly port fowarded the port to my servers static IP adress.
He also has a i5 8400/RTX 2080 and 16gb of RAM. So, his pc can easily run this without slowing down.

I'll post the log and will appreciate any and all help I can get

Are you running 0.16.51, 0.17.43, or something else?

Does the issue go away when starting a new map?
Post the log of the troubled client after a session with the issue.

I wanted to update. I can't figure out WHY it's doing it but I narrowed it down somewhat.

My buddy that has issues connecting to my dedicated server, doesn't have the same issues connecting if I host a save from my gaming PC or from my wifes gaming PC on the same network (without even port forwarding the UDP port). (My gaming rig is a i7 6700k and my wife's machine is a Ryzen 2200g)

Keep in mind that he is the ONLY one that lags on my home server (a couple of my buddies besides him just spent over 100 hours on a map hosted by my home server).

So things I have tried with my home server since I'm not sure what's causing it if it's his end or mine.
I have fully updated the version of windows it's on to the latest 1903 (my home server is running on Windows 10 enterprise)
I fully updated the BIOS (which was a little ways outdated, but I doubted this would do anything at all)
Fully updated the chipset drivers for my servers motherboard to the latest off of AMD's website.
Double checked bios settings to make sure everything was at stock/ram was set to rated specs.
Tried a different ethernet cable on the server (which I didn't think it was that because it wasn't dropping packets)
Tried launching the game on the server with the actual game, hosting a blank map, still lags.
Tried launching new maps headless on the server he still lags. (This all happens while the CPU is chilling under 1% utilization)
Tried the server hosted from a NAS drive/as well as the SSD. (Again pinching at straws here)
I've tried setting priority to server to Realtime, tried limiting the cores to 1 or 2, have rebooted, etc.
He lags regardless if he's in the server alone or if others are in the server with him.
Disabled the firewall from the server (temporarily)

I have removed DDOS protection from the router. I removed NAT from the router. DMZ'd my servers static internal IP to fully remove network limitations.

Things that I haven't tried...
Running the server from a VMware. Which I'm considering to see if maybe Factorio doesn't support Windows Enterprise edition and maybe that's causing it? (I highly doubt it)
Reinstalling my windows OS for my server (which is something I definitely don't want to do, because I have a lot of work that I do weekly on this machine when I'm not gaming and it would be annoying to backup/restore)

I'm really not sure what is causing it. I am pretty adept at this sorta thing and I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated and I am willing to try what ever suggestions someone has for me to get it to work properly. As far as I can tell it's only my factorio server that's having issues with him. As he has played Terraria and other games hosted from my dedicated server with no problem.

I have also helped him get past his double NAT in his router that's connected to his modem/router combo, via disabling the firewall/nat on the modem and DMZ'ing the port on his static IP that I manually set for his router. I am able to ping him in CMD prompt from my home server with no packet loss and he is able to ping my internet as well with no packet loss. We are only about 65ms of latency away from each other, which really isn't much.

EDIT: I also wanted to add, he was super smooth for the first 20 to 30 hours gameplay and then started having this issue. We was on the stable build at the time. So I decided to try the latest 17.xx version and host a server and he has the same issues regardless now. New map, old map etc.

So thanks for any responses and I will try to get his gaming logs as soon as he gets on today. Could be a while because he is at work atm. Thanks!!

The internet is more like city blocks than a set of tubes. It sounds to me like his packets pass through a few bad intersections between your house and his, while everyone else takes the good ones and gets there fast.

Unless you have the "terrabytes of memory" option, that is just kernel tuning parameters on the same kernel code. It is almost certainly not going to make a difference - especially because one user has the problem, and others don't.

I'd personally get your pal to visit http://www.pingplotter.com/fix-your-network and follow the directions there. It is a good walkthrough for finding out where packet loss or latency are coming in, and has both longer term trends (10 minutes of performance, not one test per second) and a nicely visual display of latency jumps, etc.

Plus someone already wrote, like, a really nice hand-holding guide to figuring out where on the path the problem shows up. I'll bet, given what you describe, that this will turn up some intermediate exchange point with intermittent connection problems causing bursts of dropped traffic every now and then, so there isn't a constant latency problem, there is an intermittent packet loss problem that shows up as variable latency while the client and server catch up between pauses.

However, once he logs into my server (same map, same network as gaming machines) He instantly desyncs/lags on the sever. It happens pretty constantly. Almost if the server is refusing packets to him for what ever reason and no one else. I just had a 4 hour session on my dedicated server with 2 other friends who never lagged once. However, as soon as he logged in he started lagging.

I don't think it's a routing issue. It seems like its something on my servers end blocking his packets and I can't figure out why. Does factorio clients send randomized ports to a server (as I have lots of ports opened for FTP etc to my servers static IP that none of my other computers would have, that could be blocking it?

I'm pretty much stumped!
