Been playing the same save for around 20 hours and my power grid was getting messy, so I wanted to automatically connect the power poles to make my base look better, I press shift click on the power poles and the wires disconnect, then with copper cables in hand I clicked the power pole but nothing happened, I tried it with the four different types of power poles and I was still not able to connect the cables. I started a new game and disabled all mods to see if it was one of the mods that was causing the problem but the problem was still there one the newly vanilla game. I asked on reddit if I was doing something wrong but got told that I was doing everything right and that it was most likely a bug. Here is a video of my problem, I know that you can't see me clicking but every time my mouse goes over the power poles I click and still nothing happened.

Works with your save without issue for me, maybe your control settings are the problem.

Also, works fine for me.

I've also looked for a "place copper cable" bind, but there isn't one.
But I'd reset them just in case.

I reseted my key binds and the problem is still there

Moving to technical help since as others have demonstrated the feature does work correctly.
