Trivial alignment crosshair mod

I love the functionality of the grid Debug (F4) option. I use it to chunk align my builds and I use it to help me line up belts and such over longer distances.

But... I am so used to it that I don't even notice it and inevitably take screenshots that hurt people's eyes. This can be improved by using Chunky Chunks to show only chunk lines, but I would lose the alignment assist.

So... It would be great to have a mod that draws a vertical and horizontal line (multi-screen/infinite crosshair) at the mouse position when a key is pressed (perhaps alt-left-mouse click) and clears all previously placed lines when another key is pressed (perhaps alt-right-mouse click) . Better yet if while holding Alt down the crosshair displays but is not placed.

That way when you need to align you can just place a crosshair or two and easily clear it when done.

Given that Chunky Chunks uses such lines I suspect that it would be possible and maybe even easy to do. I hope someone likes the idea and picks it up.

Bummer. I must then apologize for all the hurt eyes that see my screenshots :|

It was worth a try.

If the mod that adds the lines (i.e. chunky chunks) also takes the screenshot it could internally disable the lines just for the screenshot. Theoretically.

Thanks, it is not ideal (a bit more work than I'd like for my taste) but usable. I'll try it and see how it feels.

My fear is that the act of placing an object and rotating it might disrupt thinking in progress. To be ideal this kind of tool needs to be very unobtrusive.
